The Dorie marksmen have always proved themselves good sports and have given the Rakaia Club many a pleasrnt evening. It should be stated that there are very sound reasonß why the Ashburton, Methven and Rakaia Clubs travel so far afield as to shoot their shield matches on the Done range. For one thing, the Dorie range is one oJ tho best equipped in the county, the members having spent time and money in securing this end. Another reason is the splendid welcome which always awaita visiting teams, at Dorie. , At the last shoot of the Rakaia Miniature Rifle Club a competition was commenced for a trophy presented by Mr G. McLachlan. Tho following tied with total scores of 35 S. "Wilson 32-3, L. Oakley 35-1, and. G. McKegney 31-4. In tho shoot-off C. McKegney secured first place and S. i.son second.
