TIMARU AND TEKAPO.

progress league attitude.

In amplification of his statement printed yesterday in 'The Press" regarding the attitude of tfie Canterbury Progress League towards the Tekapo power scheme for Timaru, Mr A. F. Wright, a leading member of the oxeciitive of the League, states that he would not like a wrong impression to gain currency that the League were opposed to Tekapo. The League never vet had the Tekapo scheme before it Tbr consideration, but he knew that some of the individual members of the executive certainly favoured the Tekapo scheme, ana would be glad to give it> what support they could. He could not speak for all the members of the executive, but as far as he knew there was no sentiment of opposition to Tekapo at all.
