DRUG HABIT VICTIMS.
PALATIAL SANATORIUMLONDON, August 11. The Eev. W. Hodge, of Melbourne, accompanied by leading members of Parliament, London social workers, and doctors, has just paid a visit to Kendlesham Hall, in Suffolk, formerly the ancestral home of Loird Bendlesham. This stately ok] mansion has been purchased by a London syndicate of social reformers, wfto have converted it into a sanatorium for inebriates and victims of the drug habit. Patients ' belonging to the lighest social circles in England are recommended thither by eminent doctors. The hall is surrounded by a park of 500 acres andi tnagnificent gardens, tended by 10 gardeners. "It is a wonderful place, full of palatial rooms, beautifully furnished," said Mr Hodge. "I saw many of tlite patients, who were both wealthy and etiltured, and included Beveral titled ladieti." '
