MOTOR FATALITY.
PROMINENT WELLINGTON MAN KILLED. ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED. (FRSSS ASSOCIATIOH TSLKOSAM) WELLINGTON, July 19A motor fatality occurred on the Hutt road this evening, resulting xnj the death of a- prominent resident of Wellington, and serious injuries to another well-known resident. 4. car driven by Mr Adams, sharebroker, left the city in *he evening. Mr Adams was accompanied by Mr Robert Tumbull, head of the firm otf Turnbull and Jones, and Mr B. M. Wilson, manager of the Government Tourist Department. The car orashed into a motor-lorry that was going at a slow pace in the same direction. The occupants were thrown from the car, the front portion of which was badly smashed. Dm MoEvedy and Mirams were soon on the scene. Mr Turnbull was fatally injured, and died in a few minutes. Mr Wilson, was badly hurt. An iron rod was driven into Ins side, and had to be out away. Mr Wilson was removed to the hospital. Mr Adams was net seriously injured, and was able to proceed: to his home. IiPBCIiX TO "THB JFSISI.") » WELLINGTON, July 12. Mr Robert Turnbull, who was killed in a motor accident on the Hutt road this evening, was very well known in Wellington, and, indeed, throughout New Zealand. He was a brother ofl the late (Mr Alex. Turnbull, who presented his almost priceless library to the Dominion. His sister (Lady Wood) resides in London. Mr Robert Turnbull was head of the weMmown electrical engineering firm of TUrnßull and Jones. He had a charming residence in beautirul grounds at Lowry Bay across the harbour. }His house was stored with many fine pictures and objects of art. A few years ago he went to Sydney to undergfeT a serious operation, • fromi which h* made a wonderful recovery. He will\be greatly missed by a very large circle of friends. Later. Mr "Ben" Wilson, of ,the Tourist Department, who was in .the motor-car with Mr Robert Turnbull, was injured, but, it is thought, not very seriously. He is at present undergoing an operation. The car hit a heavy lorry on the Hutt road, near Ngahauranga.
