A SECRETARY'S THEFT.
SIX MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT. (PUBIS AiIIOCUTIOW TBLHOBISI.) WELLINGTON, July 4. At the Supreme Court to-day Thomas Henry Jones appeared for sentence on live charges of theft at Danj rievirke. Jones was formerly well-known in Wellington as an accountant and secretary of the Wellington Rugby Union. He also went to Australia as manager of an All Back te.m. He had pleaded guilty to the theft of £328, and there were other, charges, not yet preferred, involving belonging to the State lire. Department.
