* ■ NINE LIVES LOST. NEW YORTC, April 16. At Sacramento, California, nine Japanese children were burned to death in a fire which destroyed a mission Bchool. Sixty-five children escaped through the heroism of a teacher. WOOLLEN MILL DAMAGED. LONDON, April IG. A fire in Sanderson's and Murray's woollen mills at Galashiels, one of the largest in Scotland, destroyed the wool store and a large part of the wooldrying house.
