FOOTBALL.

Our London correspondent writes, under date of September 2Sth:—This Beaton. the Oxford University Rugby Club—the word union has been dropped officially from the title—will bo captained by J. E. MaxwellHyslop (Wellington and Balliol), who was loader of the English side last winter. He will have five old Blues at his command, and the side will be strengthened by the addition of G. G. Aitken. the New Zealand Rhodes scholar, and W. Wallace. (Australian International). Provided a satisfactory successor can be found to H. H. Forsyth, the Scottish International full-back, the Oxford University Rugby team should be one of exceptional strength this season, particularly behind the scrum.
