CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
The adjourned eitting of the Conciliation Council in- tne dispute bet-wtoa the bacoiicureref section of the Canterbury Freezing Works and Related Trades' Union and the employing firms (T. H. Green aad Co., KiDcaitis, .Ltd.. the Belfast Cluing Company, and Wardell Brothers) was resumed yesterday. Mr W. H. Hagger, ConciliatioQ Commissioner, presided. The employer*' -a&ee&aoLS were Alctsrs B. A. Green, W. BottreU, and W. Wardell, and Messrs F. G. ilcGill, J. Thornton, and C. Renn represented the Union. The Union's demands for a forty-four hours week and a, now scale of wages were fully discussed, end the followin? reached:— Head-curcr, £1 5s weekly; slaughterers, cutters, rollers, and scalders, Iβ ad per Lour; cellarmen, lardniakerß, store hands, »nd othere, 1* Td per hour; all plus 3£d an hour bjjnue. All othox conditions remuin ae in the previous award. It was agreed that the award should come into operation on December 10th, and should remain in force for a period of one year. '
