Powell's paudock, pioved oue of the most Eucceeelul guUieringo ever held by the club, members wuhnneir wives and familka turning ixo in full force* The day match, to decide the winnew of the various trophies offered, took |he ■form of a 21 bird, match ofi handicap distance, each competitor to ehoot for a laay, the winner to receive a. ladye gold bracelet. watch (presented by the patron, Sir Heaton Bhodee). The second prize was a lady's silver chain b*s, and the third prhe a lady's leather handbag, both presented by the club/ J Ihe weather proved somewhat dull and windy, and in consequeunce the shooting was not I up to standard form. The winner was J. Simpson, an eld member of the club, who broke 18 birds off 20 yards, J. Everest, T. - Kimber, and E. H. Bowell each breaking' IT birds out of 21. In tho shoot oS for second end third prize Kowell proved the winner, Everest taking third prize. A sweepstakes of 7 birds attracted 15 entrants, and resulted in E. Hammond and i C. Truscott breaking all iheir birds and j dividing the prize money. ilr W. K. Heney made feeling reference I to the great Ices sustained by the club in i the death of it 3 late president Mr H. F. Ilrnn, who had by his enthusiasm and energy ; biought the club to its present highly prosi perous position. I Hearty cheers were accorded to ihe ladies I who provided refreshments, to Mr and Mrs If Powell, to the winners, and to the rel£r E. H- Powell.
