Tbe military authorities have been instructed from Melbourne to remove! the names of Father Jerger and Professor Hirsclifield from _ tho deportation list, pending reconsideration of tho matter. SHORTAGE OF SUPPLIES. MELBOURNE June 1. The Commonwealth Government is releasing butter stored for the Imperial contract to relieve the shortage in Australia. (Received June Ist, 8.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 1. At the inquiry into the price of meat it was intimated that a shortage of supplies was expected. Mutton could be obtained from cold storage locally, and from Victoria and New Zealand. These outside sources would have to bo drawn upon, whether or not the drought broke.
