ATHLETICS.
CANTERBURY CENTRE.
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Canterbury Centre of the Now Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held last evening. Present—Messrs C. S- Thomas (chairman), R, "Wallace, P. Menzies, C. S. UoCully, F. V. Robinson. W. L. Paterson, H. B. Sellers, and' Mess Ball in (hon. secretary). A protest by Scoutmaster Froggatt ogainst the Sydenham team, winners of the Boy SoouW event at tno recent Canterbury Championship* Meeting, on the grounds that the team did not run in the regulation dress, ■was referred to the District Executive of the Boy Scouts for a decision as to whether the drees was according to the Scouts' nilea.
The statement of accounts of the reoent Championship Meeting as received from the Board of Control of Lancaster Park was discussed in committee, end considerable dissatisfaction being expressed with it and with other matters in connexion with the Park on the opening day, it wa3 decided to ask the Board to meet a deputation from the Centre and discuss matters generally. Messrs A. L. Chappell, McCully, Thomas, and Ballin were appointed to represent the Centre.
Matters in connexion with trophies for the Championship Meeting were left in the hands of Messrs Thomas and Wallace.
It was decided to'send a letter of appreciation to the Woolston Band, which gave its services free at the opening of Lancaster Park.
