William Hohenzollern is not a liberally paying- "boss," as his staff have found out to_tkeir financial sorrow. His personal doctor, who is a major in the German army, receives only his army pay, which is 5000 marks a year. At the presebt depreciated value of the mark this amounts to tho equivalent of £90 a year. Tho doctor, m addition to beings at the beck and call of both the ex-Kaiser and the ex-Kaiserin day and night, and helping the wood sawyer to cut up liis logs, is not permitted to livo in the castle, but has to stay in a neighbouring hotel with his family and pay for his keep, and any one with, knowledge of Dutcji hotels will know that they are far from cheap. Tho Dutch Government is charging the Kaiser taxes on an estimated income of 1,000,000 marks a year.
