« MAIREHAU CLUB. The first race of the season was run last week. Eighteen entered for the race. The course was the "Mairohau block," a distance of nearly five miles. C. H. Harris, with 2min, was first, time, 14min 15sec; R. Chamberlain, 2Jmin, second; H. Gibson, 40acc, third. G. Goodall secured fastest time. He started from ecratcb and lode the dfctance in 13min 16sec. The club is holding another race on the 23rd inst. over a ten-mile course. MARSHLAND CLUB. j At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Marshland Cycling Club, it was •decided to ask the members of the Mairehau Cycling Club and of the proposed Ouraliia Sports Club, to meet at Maishland at an curly date for the purpose of discussing the question of amalgamation. It was considered to be in the interests of all branches : of sport to have one strong club for the dis- ■ tiicts concerncd, instead of three separate ' ones so close together. KAIAPOI CLUB. The twenty-third annual meeting of tho Kuiapoi Cycling' Club was held in the club rooms last night, Mr L. B. Evans presiding. The annual report, which vas adopted-, sard an Honours Board, containing 44 names, hod been completed, and would be unveiled at an early date. The club had benefited by a sports meeting held during the year to the extent of £21, after giving £7 10s to the Returned Soldiers' Building Fund. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £4 17s sd.
