(PMSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) NAPIER, August 24. At Omahu, yesterday morning, a man named Alfred Powdrell, who had been acting in a strange manner lately, blew off the top of his head with a shotgun. As the result of complaints received concerning Powdrell's behaviour the Natives being afraid that he would ehoot somebody, Constable Murray went out, and when-within 30 yards of the latter put his head over the muzzle of tlio gun, which had been standing nearby, and pushed the trigger with a stick. Death was instantaneous. GISBORNE, August 23. The body of the returned soldier Linton Runciman, D.C.M., who was 'drownod in the creek at Makarika station on Sunday, was found on Friday.
