In an article entitled "What Shall Wo Smoke After New Year?" the "Lokal-Anzeiger" discusses the fate of German smokers who after December 31st, 1918, will no longer have cigars, Doubting whether they can accustom themselves to pipes and cigarettes, the journal asks:—"Will our great chemical industry, which has helped us out so often during the war, not be able somehow or other to produce q satisfactory substitute for tobacco?"
