The Port of London Authority is undertaking sixty-five acres of extension to the Albert docks. It is hoped that the work will be sufficiently completed to admit shipping by July next. MR ASQUITH OPPOSED TO A GENERAL ELECTION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association,) LONDON, November 3 Mr Asquith, speaking at St. Andrew's Hall, Glasgow, strongly deprecated the interests of the country being distracted by the artificial' turmoil of a general election. He personally claimed that he still possessed tho confidence of the Liberal Tarty, which was united in favour of Home Ralo for Ireland and free trade. "I nm anxious to serve my country," Mr Asquith added, "and 1 am not in the least ashamed because I believe the best way in the long run is to serve my party.'' A resolution of unabated confidence in Mr Asquith was carried with, acclamation. IRISH TRADES UNION CONGRESS. SEAMEN'S DELEGATES EXCLUDED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received November 4th, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON, November 3. The Irish Trades Union Congress at Dublin has passed a resolution excluding the seamen's delegates as a protest against the latter's refusal to allow "Mr .lenderson to attend International Congresses.
