The Press Bureau states: — • The Independent Air Force attacked on Tuesday uight two important chemical works at Mannheim, with good results, also blast furnaces at Burbach, railways at Thionvillo and Offenburg, and an aerodrome at nagenau. Direct hits were noted on all the targets.
THE KAISER. WILL ABDICATE WHEN GERMAN l"S INTERESTS DEMAND" IT. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrijbt» (Australian and X.2. Cable Association) AMSTERDAM, October 31. The Kaiser, speaking to a number of members of the Reichstag, said that the people must not think he had decided to retain tho throne. If the interests of Germany demanded it, he would abdicate without hesitation, but the moment had not yet come. It is generally believed that when the abdication comes the Kaiser will favour t-he Crown Prince's eldest son as his successor, under a Regency Council, headed by the Chancellor. DEMONSTRATIONS IN BERLIN. BERNE, October 31. There are daily demonstrations against the Kaiser.* The crowd in Berlin applauded Herr Haase's demand for the Kaiser's abdication and the establishment of a republic. ABDICATION REPORTS FROM COPENHAGEN. (Beater's Telegrana.) ' (Received November Ist, 10.40 p.m.) VANCOUVER. October 31. A London message states that high German officials at Copenhagen liave informed that the Kaiser has abdicated.
