Tin- Woolstoii Fire Board met on Saturday evening. l'rwcnt--Mr J. .1. Grjiluini (chairman). Colonel ('. .7. Cooper. .1. F. Grierson. H. 1\ Hopkins. L. Hurt. ('. Hill, and J. B. Richardson. In regard to tlie site tor the proved tiro station, it was decided tlia.L the chairman and Mr Grierson should go into the matter, and tie empowered to purchase the proposed section of land. A letter was read from the vSuperinj tendent of the Christchurch Fire BriI gade. inviting the co-operation of the AVoolston Brigade for the purpose of holding a torchlight procession and coloured water display at the forthcoming River Bank and Rose Carnival. It was decided to refuse the invitation, iu new of the fact that uniforms for the brigade had not yet been obtained. Some discussion arose as to the proposed building of the station, and it was ultimately dec-ivied to place the matter in the handi of Mr J. F. Guthrie to draw up plan and specifications for a brick building, to accommodate, in addition to one engine, a caretaker. h;s wife, and four single volunteer firemen. tiic building to be so defiiznetl as to admit of possible future addition?.
