(speciai. to 'the rntss.") WELLINGTON, Oc;ober 29. The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Bill was reported upon by tho Labour Bills Committee of tho Houso to-day. Tho Committee struck out the clauses relating to extended hours during stocktaking, the deiinition of "hairdresser" and "tobacconist," and other matters, retaining only Clause- fl, which proposes a license fc** of five shillings for permission to sell tobacco, cigars, and cigarettes.
