MALVERN
At tbe monthly meeting of the Mai- j vern County Council, a report was received on the hydraulic rams in tho county. It was stated that water in many cases was allowed to run into the shingle subsoil. It was resolved that all those wasting water be given notice to discontinue working tho ram till the waste is stopped. Permission to plough certain roads was granted on condition that 2s a chain be deposited before commencing the work. Mr J. Burdon requested to have his property replaced in tbo Malvern County. It was pointed { out to him that the Council had no Sjwer to do this. -The Woodvillo orough Council wrote with regard to a tax on motor-cars. Agreed to if tax levied on all wheeled traffic, but not otherwise. . Permission was granted ratepayers to take shingJe from tho Council* pits to fill in their gateways. Various applications with regard to water-races, bridges, etc, wero held over for the overseer to report on. Notico of motion was given for the road rates for the current year. Instructions were given to use the engine and trucks for metalling certain roads when tho "weather permits.
