BANGIORA.

Tho Rangiora County Council met on Friday. Present: "Messrs F. Horrell (chairman), A. Mcintosh, H. Garrett, H. Tallott, L. W. Campion, W. Stalker, and Al. H. Stokes. The Commissioner of Crown Lands wrote that he had referred the matter of cleaning the creek through the reserve at Waikuku to the Acclimatisation Society,

and would liko to know tho probable cost of the work. Tho clerk had replied that he estimated tho cost at £25. A complaint was made by Mr A. Edwards respecting a ditch on the Birch road having been cut six inches below the pipes, and the chairman and surveyor wero asked to inspect, and report. The Council's solicitors wrote advising them to adopt tho contract entered into by tho Mandoville and Rangiora River Board previous to its abolition. The Council agreed to act on the advice, and to pay for the contracts on their completion. A letter was received frdm Mr Mark Evans re drainage of his land in tho No. 1 drain. The Primo Minister wroto that tho request to have tho Cust Riding revalued would receive consideration when revaluation work was being done by tho Department this year. The clerk was instructed to write Mr Maindonald to the effect that his traction engine haulage plants were i not complying with tho heavy traffic byjlaw. It was decided to apply to tho Publio Works Department for a £ for £ grant towards n bridco across the Cam nt tho end of Brnmley's road into the Native Reserve. Tho surveyor was instructed to raise the bridge on the road near the Afaori Monument at Waikuku. It was resolved to notify the Woodond Domain Board that it must put pipes through tho embankments across tbo watercourse on the Domain within fourteen days. It was decided to hold a special meeting of the Umncil on Tuesday, 27th inst... to receive the balance-sheet. Permission was granted Mr Campion to plough a piece of road frontage. .
