KAIAPOI.

Tho installation of Mr Kichard "Wylio as Mayor of Kaiapoi for a third term took place last evening at tiie Council Chamber, in the presence ot Crs. J.-W. Barnard, \V. Kobb, 11. (J. Revell, J. H. Williams, R. J. Dunn, It. H. Croft, G. D. ..Aherington, fc>. Hinaldi. and F. J. Garnett. The Mayor and Councillors having signed the declaration, his Worship cordially congratulated the five old members on their return, and welcomed the four new niembeis. Councillors congratulated the' .Mayor on his return unopposed, and pledged themselves to assist m any progressive measures for the good of the town. Cr. Revell suggested an extension of the Borough Council. The Mayor pointed out that the next question to be considered was a highpressure water supply, which-would be the largest undertaking ever attempted by tho ConncilA

Bridge: Crs. Kinaldi, Kevell, and Garnett. Baths: Crs. Williams, Croft, and Harnard. Domain: Crs. Kobb, Etherington aud Garnett. Cemetery: Crs. Jithenngtpn, Kinaldi, and J>unn. Library: Crs. Kinaldi, Garnett, find Croft.
