NEW BRIGHTON
The installation of the Mayor, and sweariug-iu of the new Council, took place last night in the New .Brighton Council Chambers. The retiring Mayor (Mr J. A. Flesher) performed the ceremony of installation, at the same time, in a brief speech, wishing his successor and tho incoming Council success. Mr C. H. "Winny, Mayor, in reply, thanked his predecessor for his kindly speech and good wishes, and moved tho following resolution : —"That this Council place on record the splendid work done by Mr Flesher and his Council during their term of office, and that they be accorded a very nearty vote of thanks, and that this motion bo placed on the minutes of the Council." Tho motion, was seconded by Cγ. J}'. Kibblewhite and carried unanimously. At the completion of tho installation ceremony an adjournment was made to tho Pier Hall, where tables provided with good things wero laid, and some hundred and fifty people sat down to a social.
