The by-election for Yass, Mr Neilsen's former seat, will be held on Alarch sth.
Mr Neilsen has returned from America. In a lengthy statement, ho says ho resigned because ho disagreed Avith tho Government on a vital matter, thereby himself for tho solidarity of tho Labour Party. Ho had finished with politics. Ho added that ho thanked God for tho libel law and his own right hand. Some pooplo Avero going to feel the force of both.
Tho Political Lajbour League Conference having declared for preference to unionists in political matters, havo removed from tho executive a new member on the ground that he ivas a nonunionist. A special committee was appointed to enquire into the attitude of tho State and Federal Labour Parliamentarians regarding Air Neilsen's resignation, tho Shearers' Accommodation Bill, and tho Blaynoy by-election.
