In tho House of Lords, tho Betting Inducements Bill, preventing the pnbl'cation of tipster's advertisements, passed through committee.
The Bishop of Hereford's amendment wa.s rejected. It aimed at extend'ng tho penalties to anyone writing or printing any betting coupon or list of odds Ho stated that 325 largo employers in Lancashire and Cheshire favoured the amendment, as betting on football matches was interfertng with work.
