HON. JAMES ALLEN IN TOWN

TO-DAY,

The Hon. James Allen, Minister of Financo, Education and I>efenoo, will arrive from Wellington this morning, and will spend a busy day in town. From Lyttelton ho will motor over the hill to Sumner, and will visit the School for the Deaf. Ho will then motor into town, and at 11.15 a.m. will pay a visit of inspection to the Christchurcli Technical College and the Girls' Training Hostel, and at 12.15 he will receive a deputation to be introduced by Mr IsHtat Warner's Hotel. In the afternoon, commencing at 2 o'clock, he will visit in turn the Normal Training College, the Boys' High School, and the Girls' High School. Mr Allen proposes also to look through the T=» Oranga Home. In tho evening he will motor out to Burnham, where he will stay tho night, and from Burnham will leave for Dunedin by the second express to-morrow. (rRESS ABFOCTATTON TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, November 28. This afternoon tho Prime Minister was taken by motor-car over the route of the proposed Whau canal. To-morrow he will visit tho A. and P. Show, and in the evening will attend] the fareweU gathering to Lord and Lady Islington in the Town Hall.
