Before the Parliamentary Committee appointed to consider the Trade Unions Bill, tho Labour representatives proposed tin amendment making contribution to the political fund a condition of admission to Trade Unions in future. Sir Rufus Isaacs refused to accept the amendment. * Mr J. Ramsay Macltonald urged that the Unions ought to have the right to impose all their rules on new members, although the existing members had secured the right to contract out. The amendment was rejected by 25 votes to 10.
