RANGIORA.
i ' Yesterday the officebearers of the Rangiora Presbyterian Church 1 who for some time have been desirous of obtain-, ing a central site for the erection of a larger and more modern church, succeeded in purchasing the admirably situated corner block at the intersection of King and High streets. This will enable the completion of the plans for the new church, and will make a decided improvement to this portion of the borough of Itangiora. There was a heavy downpour of rain at Rangiora \estcrday about 3.30 p.m., the side channels in a brief space being quite flooded. In about an hour the rain moderated. Just,at present no further rain is needed. While the rain was falling on the plains it is feared a fresh fall of snow was taking place on the hills. The committee- of the .Northern A. and P. Association yesterday accepted the following tenders for privileges:— Publican's booth, Mr Ash by, Sefton, £40. luncheon booth, Mr A. Johnstone, £19; aerated waters and confectionery, Mr G. Maddison, £3.
