KAIAPOI.

. The September quarterly meeting of the Kaiapoi Methodist circuit officebearers was held on Monday. The Rev. A. Mit..hel. was in the chair. Tho balance-sheet shewed a slight deficit. Over £ 120 had been expended on the renovation of the Sunday school at Kaiapoi, and about i.40 was in hand. The schools and endeavour societies were reported to be in a progressive condition. By a unanimous vote it was decided to ask the Rev. A. Mitchell to rferaain in the circuit for another year. ,In' the event of a probationer being appointed, it was decided! to ask the Rev. Mr Orchard to remain for a further term. Mr J. W. Blackwell and Mr Sheat .junr., were appointed substitute representatives at the synod to be held at Ashburton. It was decided to vote-one. per cent, of the quarter's takings to assist Reefton district owing, to the strike. The meeting was adjourned for a fortnight to receive the report of the.Boundaries Commission.
