SPEED OF MOTOR CYCLES.

TO THE EDirOR .OF, "THE PRESS." Sir,—According to a local appearing in a recent issue of your paper, the Heathco't- County Council aro proposing to make a speed limit of twelve miles per hour on the roads on Cashmere Hills. I also understand that tho Council are thinking of making a limit on all their roads. This appears to mo to 'be unjust, especially on the hills, as it will be hard for a motorist to tell his own speed when descending. Again, if the Council makes a limit of twelve miles per hour, on Page's road on the way to New Brighton they will deprive many motorists of a pleasant spin on a road which is by no means overburdened , with traffic. I trust some one else will take up the cause and endeavour to prevent the Heathcoto County Council from making by-laws for a speed limit of twelve miles per hour, where the same is altogether unnecessary.—Yours, etc., MOTOR CYCLIST.
