WELLINGTON, November 6. Tiie following is a copy of the High Commissioner's cablegram, dated London, November 4th. Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on srot: — Mutton—The market is steady, and prices are well maintained. Canterbury 4Jd, North Island 3gdLamb—Th© market is quiet and holders are firm. Canterbury, 3d; other than Canterbury, 4|jd. Beef—The market is dull. New Zealand hinds. 3jd; fores, 2id. Butter—The market is slightly weaker, with less demand on account of high prices. Danish, 1355; Siberian, 118s; Australian, 1265. Cheese—Tlio market is quiet but steady, and no change is recorded in prices. Canadian 69s to 70s. Hemp—The market is quiet with a tendency in favour of buyers. New Zealand, good to fair, on spot, per ton, £19 15s: fair grade. £18 15s; fair current Manila, £19 10s; forward shipments. New Zealand, r_ood to fair, per ton £20; fair grade, £19; fair current Manila, £20 10s. The output from Manila for tho week was 24,000 bales. Stocks of New Zealand hemp total 810 tons. River Pate shipment of mutton and lamb last month were: — Carcases. Mutton, Lamb.
