THE RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT DIAZ.

.MEXICO CITY, May 26. Tho resignation of President Diaz and Vice-President Corral were officially announced in the Chamber of Deputies, when letters from both were read.
Demonstrations in tho streets show that the people are pleased at the turn of events.
One Deputy said that President Diaz's good deeds will outweigh his mistakes. "President - ' Diaz was dead, but "long live 'Citizen' Diaz!" was the cry.

Bands of insurrectionists, unaware that peace had been arranged, killed several chiefs of police in the interior. Hundreds of people aro on the verge of starvation, and aro looting and burning stores.
The country is in a stato of chaos, and a number of Federal troops havo been slain.
