United Prwi Asweiation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Recerred Februarj' Ist, 12.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 31. A parcel of gold mysterious'y disappeared from tie Mint a few days ago. The fingerprints of the staff were taken, and it is alleged that an officer has been dismissed through this system of investigation. The authorities are extremely reticent, but it is believed that the amount of gold taken is not large. The Mint authorities refuse information, and state that enquirers would have to go to London to get it.
