A very welcome steady rain set .n at midnight on Thursday. Anxiety abou • saving the crops is past, as all, espevially the late; ones, have been harvested in gootl condition and are* safe either in stacks or bags. A farmer, speaking about the low prices ruling, said, "ics, that's right; but don't forget tho unprecedented production which puts tho balance on the right side. All through the summer we have had abundance of feed, anel stock have done, remarkaoly well. Turnips anel rape, T admit, have not come up to expectations, but we have, abundance of stubble feed in which many plants are flourishing, eonimenly elenominatc-d as weeds ; nevertheless sheep devour anel fatten on them. The output of cream has certainly been above the average, and the quantity and quality of lambs (barring thc price) leaves nothing to be desired ; in short, taking matters all round, I think that farmers anel graziers have very litt'.o to complain of."
