It was resolved that such mocting bo convened, to be Held at th© Town liaU, Littlo River. Tho General Manager New Zealand Railways wrote that he could not see his way to put on a Tuesday afternoon 6tock train. It was resolved that the member for tho district bo asked to point out. to the manager that, although there was a stock train occasionally at present, those wanting to use it had no knowledge when it might be sont, and hence it was of no use to poreons making use of flag stations, whereas if a regular stock train were placed on, there would bo ueo made of it. Mr Heaton Rhodes, M.1 , ., wrote that, it was likely a platelayer's house would be placed at Kaituna siding provided a cite therefor were given. Mr Coop intimated he has offered through Mr Rhodes to sell a small area for the purpose indicated or exchange for adjacent fishing reserve, or grant free sufficient clay to reclaim a site at th© railway station. -*ne chairman reported having attended a meeting of local bodies at the instance of the Akaroa County Council, to consider by-laws regulating traffic on tho roads of the county, and that a certain code had been adopted which would bo laid before the Board at a later date. It wns resolved that the chairman bo r.cked to use somo supervision over traction encino traffic at the Gebbie'e Valley end, and report if any damage had resulted from overloading. Mr Goo. Stanbury wrote regarding a bridge at Dairy Ford, and urging the necessity of ite erection, but owing to want of funds the consideration of the matter was postponed. The Board then sat as a Local Board of Health, Mr Parkinson reported that, in company with the clerk, ho had waited on th© Premier at Little River and pointed out tho very insanitary state of things at the railway station, and other matters of local interest. Correspondence was received regarding a pigstyc at Gebbio'a Velley. and it was resolved that tho chairman and clerk inspect, and, if desirable, give -notice for its removal or improvement. The Police Commissioner wrote that ho could "not see his way to permit the local constable to act as health inspector. It was resolved that Mr R. H. Rhodes, M.P., be asked to place this matter before the Minister, as the Board was of opinion that th© duty roferred to would not in the least interfere with or obstruct the constable's police duties. Tho Minister for Railways wrote stating that h-e could not see his way to recommend the erection of a septic tnnk nt the Little River railway istation. Mr Coop proposed that the Ministers for Railways and Health b© asked to inspect and investigate this very serious matter. This wns seconded by Mr Birdling and carried.
