Owing to tne uniavourubie we—tner little thrv__iing lias been done, but some progress was made last wees.. <jno small 100 of wheat has been purchased by a local miller at 4s, to supply immediuto wants. It is expected that _icro will bo a fair demand for early threshed lots, as some of the smaller millers' stocKs of wheat are very low. Une principal business is being done ia'feed oats, for wnich Is 3d is being given at country stations, and at this price 900 bushels of Gartons have been purchased. For milling samples, Is 4d would be paid. Some fair samples are now being offered, and up to Is 5d is being asked. A few samples of barley are being offered, but they aro moro or less discoloured, and fail to find buyers at present. Ryegrass is offering fairly freely, but j tho bull, of tho early threshed lots are not meeting with favour among buyers.
Tho undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers, at country stations, free of commission, except where otherwise stated:—
Old wheat (nominal) —4s 2d to 4s 3d at country stations.
Oats—ls 3d at country stations. Barley—Malting, Sis 3d to 3s 6d. Ryegrass (nominal) —Is 6d to Is 9d. at country stations.
Flour—£lo 10s per ton. Bran—£4 15s, local £4 lCs, f.0.b., per ton. » Pollard—£6 por-to--. Oatmeal—£l2 per ton. Oatsheaf Chaff—£2 12s 6d to £2 15s, at country stations. Dairy Produce—Cheese, factory 6d, dairy s_d, 'oaf cheese 6.d; butter, factory 12a, farmers' separator 10 _d, dairy 9*d : bacon, sides 7Jd, rolls B_<L_ hams Bch honey, extracted 4d per lb, wax Is 2d per lb ; lard (packets) Sd ; fresh eggs 13d per dozen.
