Tlie contractors have Gtarted on the work of tho completion of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. Attention has been called to several serious defects and cracks in one of the walls of tho old part, and 6.eps will be taken to put it in thorough repair. A concert was held in tlio Oddfellows' Hill, Tinwald, on Thursday evening, in aid of tho Presbyterian Sunclay _chool library. Mrs Donald Mxjije.ui llac) bed arranged an excellent programme, and was well supported by visitors from. Ash burton. The hall was crowded.
