Tho attendance «t the l.eeston .school was rather low; and Kiliinchy had about 50 on the ruli. with an average of 30. Tlio motion of .Mr W. W. Gibson, that it bo a recommendation to the incoming Committee oi .Management that a sum bo voted from the General Account to the tiiu .Is of the iSiinday-schools, was carried. Mr J. Anderson reported that the Bible elites were working satisfactorily. Vote* of thanks to the members ot session, and committee, tho Rev. Mr Duruard. and to the choir and choirmaster, concluded the proceedings.
The "following committee Ins been elected for the Southbridge Technical Classes:—The Rev. 11. G. Hawkins, Messrs John McMillan, Arthur Greenwood, M. Curran, Henry Simpson, I. W. T. Baxter and 10. G. Hubbard.
The St. John's Junior Sewing Guild recently entertained Mrs W. H. Orbcll at an evening in the Leeston parish room, and Miss Hammond presented her with two wicker chairs end a table.
The Leeston branch of tho Farm Labourers' Union, at its meeting on Saturday evening last, passed the following resolution with respect to Mr .hitman's Farm Labourers Accommodation Hill:—"That this branch expresses the opinion that the section in Mr Flatman's Bill providing that a waterproof tont shall be deemed sufficient accommodation, is entirely inadequate*, and will certainly not give satisfaction, to tho farm la/bourers of Canterbury; neither will any building which is not lined and ifi without a fireplace."
