NEW ZEALAND EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
•I (rBUS ASSOCIATION TXLBeBUO BLENHEIM, March 24. The total for the forty -seventh week of the New Zealand i«gg-laying Association's competition was 1271, making the grand aggregate 83,014, and the weekly average per pen 12.71. The highest layings for the week were:— Alexandra. Poultry Company's White Rocks 27, Ashworth's Silver Wyandottes (Christclmrch) 26, Love's Silver Wvandottes (Christchurch) 24, Mrs Edward's White Rocke (Blenheim) 24. order of the aggregate now runs as follows, the fiiist five pens, consisting of White Leghorns—H. Leger (Levin) 1320, Brooks (South Australia) 1162, Marlborough A. and P. Association 1158, Jonathan Hodson (Blenheim) 1157, Mise Mick Shaw (Blenheim) 1146, Hockey's Brown Leghorns (Nelson) 1116. The number of competitors now above ono thousand is sixteen. Brooks has regained second place from the Marlborough. A. and P. Association. On Wednesday last Brooks, the A. and P. Association and Hodgson were on the same mark with 1152 each. The contest for second place is an exciting one.
