THE PORT ARTHUR SURRENDEREES. GENERAL NOGI'S REPORT. (Received January 6th, 9.55 p.m.) LONDON, January 5. The weight of official opinion at Tokio is adverse to peace until General Kuropatkin arid Admiral .Rozjestvensky are defeated. General Nogi reports that thirty-five thousand surrendered at Port Arthur, inchfding twenty-five thousand soldiers and sailors, twenty thousand being sick and wounded. Common provisions such as bread aro plentiful, but thero is a scarcity of meat and vegetables, and ro medical supplies. The Japanese aro strenuously succouring the garrison. PARIS, January 5.
