RANGIORA.
The attendance at tlie Rangiora market yesterday was affected by the harvesting and the Mount Brown sale. There was a large entry of sheep, and owing to the dry weather prices dropped. Tlie entry comprised 9000 sheep, 150 cattle, and 100 pigs. Pat lambs made 12» to 13s 6d, fat ewes 10s 6d to 14s, do wethers 15s to 16s 6d, four, six and eight-tooth ewes 14s 6d to 16s 6d, two-tooth ewes 14s, do wethers lis to 12s 3d, aged ewes 3a to 7s 6d, store lambs 7s to 10s, merino ewes 4s to 8a 6d. Cattle—Beef equal to 25s to 27s 6d per 1001b, springers £6 10b to £9 2s 6d, young cattle £2 10» to £4. milch cows £5 to £9 10s, calves 25s to 355. Pigs-—Baconens 35s to 50s, porkers 26s to 37b 6d, weanera 18s to 245, suckers 7s to 15s.
In the produce yards prices were: — Sheepskins (heavy merino) to 4s 3d, do crossbred 3s to 3s 7d, lighter skins 2s to 2s 7d, pelts Is 6d to Is Bd, lighter do 6d to Is, fat lid lb, wool (crossbred) 2id to 3d, fleece do 2_d to 3id, poultry, roosters 3s 5d to 4« pair, hens Is 6d "to 2s 4d, ducks 3s 2d to 4s, chick wheat 4s to 4s 4d bushel, oats Is lOd to 2a, barley 3s, crushed oats 2s M, pig meal 12s sack, potatoes 6s 2d to oa 6d Dng, apples 2s 6d case, plums l_d to 2{d, onions 7d to 9d string.
At Rangiora yesterday the North Canterbury Co-operative Stores Company offered by auction, on account of 2_r J. Robertson, the Loburn estate, of 485 acres, but it was passed in at £9 per acre. The Ra_giora, grain market quotations yesterday were:—Fine milling Tuscan wheat 3p lid, do Pearl"*4s, Hunter's 3s lOd. medium quality all round lines on a basis of 3s lOd, Sparrowbill oats (best) Is Bd, Canadians Is 8d to Is 9d, Dun and Danish Is 5d to Is 6d, barley 3e to 3a 3d, partridge peas 3s 6d to 3s Bd, blue do 4s 6d to ss, grass seed (farmers) 2s to 2s 6d, early potatoes £3 per ton. A considerable amount, of business was done at the foregoing prices.
