The most noteworthy fact in connection with the when, market since last report, and the one which has had the fur-thest-reaching effect, waa the announcement, on Monday, by the Flouriuillei*' j .Association, of the reduction in the price |of flour to £10 per ton. Consequent upon j this reduction, and the. quantity ot wheat i tillering, tho ruling prioea for that cereal j .how a flight decline, Hnnter'n and Tuscan ! being quoted at 3s lld, and Pearl at 4s, tho latter not offering so freely a. the others. A fair quantity of wheat has been sold for local consumption, and for shipment to the North Island, at prices equivalent to those quoted nbove. The oate market also shows a decline in prices as compared with last report, a result of large (supplies coming to hand, and tlie outlets becoming to a certain extent blocked up. Fairly largo quantities are still being shipped to Australia, jind it is understood tliat a fair quantity liaa been booked for South Africa by the Surrey. Milling oats continue in fair demand, especially for parcels available for shipment this week, but prices are a penny lower than last quotations. Short feed and Duns und Danish show a similar decline. In other lines, onions show a weakening tendency, present quotations being from £1 to l£s lower than at the date of last report. For grass seed there has been a fair demand this week, and enquiries are being made for parcel, for export. Cocksfoot growers are showing a greater disposition to sell. Italian ryegrass, of which little is obtainable, is-quoted at an advance of 3d on Friday's prices. The following are current prices paid to farmers, free of commission, except where otherwise specified: — Wheats—Hunter's and Tub can 3e lld, Pearl %, at country stations. Oats—Heavy Canadians Is 8d to Is 9d, short feed Is 7d, Duns and Danish Is 4d to Is sd, at country stations, for early delivery. Barley—Prime malting 3s 3d to 3_ 6d, secondary quality 3s to 3s 2d, Cape 2s 6d to 2s 8d f at country stations. Flour (millers' quotations)— Roller £10 per ton. , Pollard—£7. Bran—£s. Oatmeal—£ll 10s. Ryegrass—Farmers' well-dressed paroels, 2s 6d to 2s 9d; inferior, 2s to 2e 3d; Italian ryegrass 33 6d to 3e 9d, cocksfoot ,3d to 4d per lb, delivered. Potatoes—Early varieties £2 10s to £2 15s, at country stations. Onions—£3 to £3 5s per ton, delivered. Dairy Produce—Cheese, factory sjd to 6d, dairy sd; loaf cheese, 6d to 6*d; butter, factory, local 10id; Nortfi Island lld, f.0.b., Wellington; farmers' separator, 9d; dairy, 8d to 9d for prime; -jalt (in boxes), 8d to B_d; hams and bacon, 9d to lOd; factory hams and bacon, £d higher, f.o.b.
