LINWOOD
The Linwood Borough Council met last evening. His Worship the Mayor, Mr H. Poarce, was in tha chair. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee, accounts were passed for payment to the value Of £393 10s on the general account, and £93 5s 9d on the loan account The Sydenham Borough Council • wrote'asking that a delegate should be sent to a conference to be held on the 16th July to consider the methods adopted for making and revising the valuation rolls. The Mayor was ap-. pointed delegate for the pufposs. Mr E. W. Turton's resignation of his position of Fire Inspector was received with regret. A letter was received from the Royal Visit Committee asking that the Council should forward £230 as tie borough's contribution to the expenses of the Royal visit. Reports of the Works and Finance Committees wsre adopted. The latter showed receipts on the loan account £73 3s lid, on the general account £50 6s 6d; bank balances, loan account, credit £573 ss;. general account, dsbit'£l3o2 13s 2d; recreation, ground account, credit £86 4s 2d.
