KAIAPOI.
The Kaiapoi Borough Council met on Tuesday. It was decided to take steps to hold biennial elections for Harbour Board. The Fire Brigade was voted the annual grant, and the use of the Council Chamber for a meeting. It was decided to expend £5 on the small birds nuisance within the -borough. Cr. B s ugg reported improvements at the cemetery, which would be made complete if all the private graves were all chained. The fees for dogs and public halls were fixed as last year, and it was decided to hold a meeting to fix the statutory half holiday.
