SYDNEY, January 11.
During the week a meeting of delegates of Chambers of Commerce in the Commonwealth States haa been held. Messrs Vaile and Theomin, presidents of the Auckland and Dunedin Chambers, were also present.
The Conference discussed the question of federating the Chambers, and resolved that it was expedient to create a general council of Chambers of Commerce of the Commonwealth. A proposal was also made to include New Zealand, but __r Theomin pointed out that he and Mr Vaile were there only as guests, and not delegates, though, he added, at some future period the New Zealand Chambers might join. The President expressed the hope that not only would New Zealand Chambers join the general council, but New Zealand would also join the Commonwealth. Mr Russell French, president of the Sydney Chamber, was appointed interim president of the new council.
