NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company will be held to-day, to confirm the resolution re extra capital. Mr Philip Wirth, of Wirth Bios.' Circus, ariivcd last night to take charge of "matters in- connection with the opening of the season here on Saturday night. It is ten years since the Wirth Bros, were here last, and during that period they have visited every part of the world. They have added to thou* company all the best artists obtainable, and in their ring aud menagerie also there will be found a number of special attractions. Matinees have been arranged for during the week- in which the company will stay here. The work of clearing the giound for the circus, opposite the Theatre, is being pushed on rapidly. Tho op.rator of the British Biogrilph, Mr Dickson, has been officially appointed to take pictures of the colonial tour of tu?ir Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York. The pictures will form a most interesting record of the event, and also of colonial scenery, etc., which should prove most interesting to the British people.
