PRESENTATIONS.
On Tuesday the. Rev. J.- Sheldon was pre- { sented by the resident* of tSS* Governor's . Bay parochial district ( -overnor's Bay, Ted- < dinston, Gebbie's Valley, and Charteris Bay) with a purse o eeovereigns, upon his resignation of the cure of Governom's Bay, and active ministerial work. JUr Allan, in making the presentation, referred to tihe esteem in wiueli jar Sueldon was held in the district, not only by, the members of the Church of England, but by all' others. Miss Nellie A?ian, on behalf of the Sunday-school children in Governor's Bay, presented Mrs &neldon with a handsome silver butter-dish and knife. At a wcial entertainment held in the Church of England > Schoolroom, Amberley, on Monday evening, to bid farewell to Miss M. Bowman, on bsr approaching marriage, she' having held the position of organist to the church, the Rev. C. Tobin, the" vicar, presented that lady with a silver tea and coffee service and cake baskel, in recognition of her valued services to the Church. Last night at the Committee meeting of the Christchurch Swimming Club, a presentation was made to Mr J. M. Watson, on the eve of hi* marriage. Mr Francis, in eulogistic tenne, referred to the interest Mr Wateon had shown in the affairs of the Club, and on behalf of the Club presented him, with a handsome set of carvers, the case of which bean a silver shield suitably inscribed.
