iniSaf ASSOCIATION TZLH&AJf.) Wkosksday, Octobeb 18. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. NATIVE LAND TRANSACTIONS. On the motion of Mr TAIAROA, a resolution was passed affirming the expediency of suspending the operations of the Native Land Court and the Native Appellate Court during the recess, in so far that these Court* shall not interfere with wills made by natives of which probate has been granted until the whole question shall have been considered next session. BILLS ADVANCED. The Millers' Hours of Labour Bill was read a third time by 16 votes to 14. The Marlborough High School Bill was agreed to on the voices. The Police Provident Fund Bill was put through Committee without amendment, and read a third time. The Pacific Cable Authorisation Bill and Government Accident Insurance Bill were both read a second time, and the former was then passed through Committee, and read a third time. Tie Kauri Gum Industry Act Amendment Bill was read a third time, and the Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill and Law Amendment Bill were also put tErough their final stages. The Council rose at 5.15 p.m.
