SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

1^ The West Christchurcli School Committee met on Wednesday. Present —Mr W. McClea (chairman), G. T. Chisnall, J. T. Park, J. J. Isbister, W. J. Watson, G. Watson and J. H. Jones. The chairman announced that th© school excursion would be held ,at tho Amberley Domain on Friday, 17tb)inst. It was agreed to vote for Messrs Adams, Peryman and Weston for the Board of Education. The headmaster reported that at the recent examination of pupil teachers all the candidates from this school passed .in the Honours Division, and that as the result of the scholarship examination one.Board of Education Junior Scholarship, one 8073' High School Exhibition, one Cnrist's College Entrance Scholarship and two Girls' High School Scholarships were awarded to pupils of tliis school, lt was decided to congratulate the headmaster and members of the teaching staff. It was agreed to voto the usual grant for swimming prizes out of the Bath Fund. To fill vacancies caused by the I removal of fourth year pupil teachers to the ! Normal Training College, the committee agreed to recommend the Board to appoint in- William G. Menzies and Miss Mabel I Septima Macgregor as pupil 'teachers. ! The Addington School Committee met on Wednesday. Present—Messrs Jf. K. Bowden (chairman), R. Bell, J. Dorm, H. G. Ell, W. Gall, W. Johnson, J. Moore, and G. Woods. It was resolved to hold the school excursion to Kaiapoi on Thursday, March 9th. Rules for the regulation of the swimming batih were adopted. Mr Ell gave notice of motion to rescind the committee's decision to pay into the Incidental Fund all moneys rectived through non-attendance fines, and also to rescind a resolution to inform the Childrens' Aid Society of the committee's inability to act upon its suggestion re the allotment of such moneys- The committee voted for Messrs H. W'/Perymau and T. S. Weston to fill two of the vacancies on the Board of Education. ■ I
