A question of the legal service of prohibition ordere was raised to-day in a charge against Walter Stimson, licensee of the Queon's Ferry Hotel, of having supplied liquor to Geo. E. Bentley, a prohibited person, the notice of the order having only been addieased "Licensee Queon's Ferry Hotel." Air Brabant, S.M., reserved judgment. John Harley, blacksmith, formerly foreman of the Auckland Fire Brigade, cut his throat through business worries. He is in the hospital in a critical condition. WELLINGTON, June 27. The Tutanekai finished the repaning of the cable to-day. In the beer duty stamp case the S.M. dismissed the charge, holding that it was not proved that the defendant Burke had knowingly neglected to deface the stamp.
